Download YouTube Videos as MP3 Songs
YouTube has good music videos, comedy acts, and more. But you cannot listen to them on your iPod or any other device. Well, today I bring you the solution to download YouTube videos as MP3 songs.
Now using these websites, you just need to enter a YouTube video address and wait for it to download and convert.
GetAudioFromVideo.com
Good website to convert those YouTube videos to MP3 files. Has a little bit of ads but you will probably live with it.
ListenToYouTube.com
This also has a good amount of ads. But hey, it does its job of converting!
VidtoMP3.com
Little more fancy graphics. But again, they should lay off on the ads!
Video2MP3.net
A clean user interface with minimal ads (finally!). But the problem is, it will only convert some videos not all.
Suggested by Joshy (thanks!). This website has no advertisements so far. Compared to others, they convert the files to be 128kbps audio not 64kbps audio (which is a good thing).
So that’s about it. There are probably many more websites that do this but these are the ones that work for me. And for Safari0 users having trouble downloading those MP3 files, you should check out my article “How to Save and Download MP3 Files in Macintosh Safari” for some help.
Get the Top Mac Apps for Free
Last time I brought you “Some of The Top Mac Apps for An Incredible Price!“. Today, MacHeist has released a new nanoBundle that have some of the Top Mac Apps for free! The applications in the bundle in my opinion are absolutely worth downloading.
- ShoveBox
- WriteRoom
- Twitterrific
- TinyGrab
- Hordes of Orcs
- Mariner Write
One of those good applications to keep tidbits of information. It can easily replace the notepad programs as it can keep images, URL’s, and more with a simple drag to the menu bar. The search function also comes in real handy.
WriteRoom is probably one of the worst apps ever. It’s a text editor that supposedly gives “distraction free” writing. But what’s good with a text editor that has no spell or grammar check? You can go full screen mode in a normal text editor anyways, or maybe use Mariner Write included in this bundle.
An application to let you manage your Twitter account. It’s a neat app, but right now I think HootSuite suits my needs better.
Like Snagit for the PC, this is an application that lets you capture and manage screenshots. But a neat feature that TinyGrab has is that you can upload them to your own FTP server.
This is similar to most tower defense strategy games but in very nice graphics. A good time buster where you can spend hours on end playing this game!
A very sleek word processor with only the essential things needed to write a report. I find this much easier to use compared to OpenOffice Writer and Microsoft Word.
There you have it! Good Mac apps for any avid computer user to use. Especially for students, and teachers.
Note: Mariner Write is currently not unlocked at the time of writing. There’s need to be 500,000 participants before it is unlocked.
How to Save and Download MP3 Files in Macintosh Safari
Lots of people have been asking me how to save and download MP3 files in Macintosh Safari. When you open an MP3 file in Safari, you cannot go to the file in the top bar and save as. Instead, Apple has made this a complicated thing!
So there are three ways to save and download Mp3 Files:
- Right click or control-click the link to the MP3 File and choose “Download Linked File As”
- Paste the URL in the address bar if it is not there already, hold option and press return (sometimes this may not work)
- Drag the URL (either the link itself or the icon in the address bar) to the Downloads window
You may also have troubles saving MP3 Files in the Windows Safari version too. So you can use these approaches to save your files in Windows. But keep in mind, the option key is ALT.
